I don't know what this is - or what it turns into - but I have never seen a caterpillar with a horn in its rear.

No Crossing

This is one thing that bugs me: signs that tell me not to do something [crossing] when there is not a viable alternative anywhere else. The crosswalks on this road are ridiculously far apart.

Manners

I found this sign at my bus stop. It is telling the bicyclists to mind their manners.

From what I have seen, drivers are much worse.

Glowing

This flower was absolutely glowing in the light from the setting sun.

Morning Spider

I liked the way the light hit the spider.

And just now, I saw there there is a spider web in the spider web.

Rice Morning

It was a beautiful morning and on the way to work I drove by this field that was shining in the sun. It looks like it is harvest season.

Monkey Slide

I used HDR on this one. The original did not look right.

This tree is called a saru suberi which translates to monkey slide. I think it is because there is no bark on it so the wood is smooth.

Bus Stop

Recently I have gotten bored standing at my usual bus stop, so I have been walking down to the next one. I would like to go to the next one, but there is a huge gap between this one and the next.

Purple

I wish I had brought my tripod. I saw a shot in a photography magazine where the photog created nice frontal bokeh, but in order to do there here, I would have had to get down on my knees. You cannot always do that.

Morning Walk

One thing about walking to work in Sendai, Japan - you see the same people every morning.

It Wasn't This Dark

For some reason these lilies started popping up all over the place on the road to work. I'm thinking there is some sort of Johnny Appleseed living around there.
