Blessing? Check!

This is right after those participating in dontosai  were blessed at the shrine. To the right you can see where people threw money, and the net put up to protect those behind it.

With the food stands, the dontosai festival at Hachimangu brought out the radio station as well.

Torii

This torii, shrine gate, is being lit by the bonfire of dontosai at Hachimangu in Sendai.

Nowhere to Go

There were so many people at the festival that those participating in the hadaka mairi would have to wait for those in front of them to finish their ritual.

Blessed

Just after being blessed, those participating in the festival move on towards the bonfire.

After walking around the bonfire, the naked walkers finish their ritual.

Like ghosts in the night, those who participated in the festival pass by on their way out.

Hachiman Lantern

I took this last fall and I came across it when I was looking through my archive. I don't like the white light in the middle, but I like it otherwise.

Maple in the Trees

Another one from Hachiman. I loved how the maple was lit up while the pines remained dark.

Omikuji

Processed, but the picture is relatively the same. I took this at Hachiman Shrine when I got my car blessed.

Hachimangu

Here's the entrance to Hachimangu in Sendai. I went there on a cold day back in January. It was more fun to come during the summer.
