Aoba Shrine Construction

Aoba Shrine is undergoing some front step construction right now. It looks a lot different without the iconic torii.

Rock on Rock

This was at the entrance to Aoba Shrine. I am not sure why someone put this rock there.

Fallen Gate

The torii (gate) at Aoba Shrine fell over in one on the earthquakes. (Either 3.11 or 4.7)

Aoba Shrine's Walkway

This is one of my favorite parts of Aoba Shrine - the stones that make the sidewalks. I should spend some time with this photo and increase the contrast.

Aoba Pond

I thought this picture was crooked, but the two kids would be tilted if I straightened the picture.

Aoba Jinja

Aoba Shrine in Kita Sendai. The entrance was stunning, but inside the shrine was a little boring. There are too many trees already for sakura to grow.

Dragon Fountain

It's dark, so the detail doesn't show through, but I think the shape of the dragon is kind of cool.

Which Way?

At Aoba Shrine, there these stairs. I had thought that you go up the ones on the right but I guess I was wrong. Again.

Matsuri

I wasn't sure what this festival was for so I went up to find out.

On a Saturday

This is the park next to Aoba Shrine. Notice the dirt.
