Miyatoko in the Distance



That mountain is near a village called Miyatoko, which in turn is near one of the Date family graves. Date as in Date Masamune, although the more famous Dates have their own grave sites.

I drove on a one-lane dirt road through the forest that went around the backside of the lake, and there were dozens of these scarecrows around. Maybe they should put these guys in the city.
