Miyatoko in the Distance

That mountain is near a village called Miyatoko, which in turn is near one of the Date family graves. Date as in Date Masamune, although the more famous Dates have their own grave sites.

I unfortunately only had a telephoto lens when I was here. These mountains are beautiful.

Only one bite ... I guess this mushroom is poisonous.

Another Nail

I didn't like that I blew out the sky in the first one, so I converted it to a black and white. I should go back and try again.

Scarecrow

I drove on a one-lane dirt road through the forest that went around the backside of the lake, and there were dozens of these scarecrows around. Maybe they should put these guys in the city.

The Longest Nail

The tree in the middle reminded me of the proverb that says "the longest nail will be pounded down". Someone should do something with that tree!

Water Well

The flowers are a nice touch to an otherwise ordinary faucet.

Towards the Sun

Do mushrooms face towards or away from the sun? If this mushroom were edible (I don't know if it is or not) I could make a fortune off it.
