President Obama has finally sending some messages that SOPA is dead on arrival. Also recently a very conservative congressman (Daryl Issa) turned against SOPA too. I think Obama's friends at Google and Facebook finally made the consequences clear.
It is mainly aimed at sites outside the USA, on the basis that they are pirating copy written content. If some one complains about a sites' content, even something like Blogger, the entire site will be blocked from the USA users and possibly forced to closed if they can make the host country to cooperate.

ReplyDeleteI think Google should have blacked themselves out.
DeleteNice post! I had not thought about getting active myself. Does it apply to people outside of the USA?
ReplyDeleteWell, it will if it passes because sites are borderless.

Wow. That sounds like something China would (and does) do.
