Hasekura Tsunenaga at Aoba Castle

aoba-castle-hasekura-tsunenaga

When I was going up to the castle, up Aoba Mountain, I was worried about catching the sunset behind the statue of Date Masamune. I saw a statue of a samurai towards the bottom, but I resisted going to take a look because I could see the light slowly fading.

On my way back downtown, I found Hasekura Tsunenaga where the Otemon Gate used to stand guarding Aoba Castle.

  1. He was a remarkable man and well traveled for someone of this period in history. It is nice to see that he is remembered.
