Pest

Pest
(Why doesn't Flickr give you access to rotated photos?)

These things make a b-line through the area I'm living in. I can't stand them and I often wonder if they would hold up in a major earthquake.

  1. Man Japan is crazy with those massive power lines. In Tochigi they are EVERYWHERE. And they are huge. Much bigger then in California. Maybe it's because Japan is more densely populated so those huge power towers have to carry more in a smaller area.

  2. I've heard they don't bury them because of earthquake concerns, but if a big earthquake hit, I'd be afraid of one of those things falling down.

Bring on solar power to every house and building.

  3. sixmats,
you're right, they don't stick them underground due to earthquakes. Same reason why they make concrete beds for most of the rivers in densely populated areas.
