
I was glad I was able to take a picture of this. Looking back at it, it's kind of blurry since I was walking and embarrassed that I was taking their picture.
They are putting their prayers or wishes on this mikoshi and I assume that the prayers ended up at the shrine getting burned.

Glad you took the photo. I all too often walk past the best photo opportunities (and by best I mean the ones that capture people, emotions, moments rather than the artistic quality of the photo - but that too sometimes) because I'm a little embarrassed at getting my camera out and looking too touristy of gawkish.

Actually, a great photo. I so understand reluctance to take the photos of the moments we happen upon, when we feel like we are intruding. In this case, I think you captured it at just the right moment.
