Micro Forest

This plant is really interesting. It looks like a mini tree without leaves; just a trunk and branches.

Green Spring Morning

Behind this weed was a hill of grass covered in raindrops that were being lit up by the morning sun.

Hanging Out

This is some kind of caterpillar hanging from a tree. There was a ray of sunlight shining on it, so I could increase the shutter speed to get the black background. I wish I could have gotten in closer with a macro lens.

Stand Tall

A dandelion stands in the grass.

The leaves are starting to come out.

Bird on a Branch

This is one of the first birds I have seen around this year.

Asian Mountain Magnolia Blooming

This is the Asian Mountain Magnolia, I think they are called kobushi, which are just past full bloom. This picture was when they were just coming out.

Backlighting

I wish I could have given this more justice. The fuzz on the buds were all lit up in the evening sun.

Back Lighting

I am going to be doing this a lot with flowers this spring.

The Daisey

The flowers are coming into bloom -- especially the ones inside.

Parting

The silhouette of the trees against the evenings sky. The parting in the trees was caused by the road.

Last of the Leaves

These were the last of the leaves left from autumn. They have since blown off the tree.

When I was taking this, I had in my head a shot that would have shown the dandilion as the human eye would see it with  the seed fluffs showing all white on the outside of the flower. I wish the sky had been bluer so it would make the white stand out more.

It was hard to spot this spider up in the tree. These spiders are all but gone now.

This tree had something like six spider nests on it.

The Drips

I usually have more pictures than I can upload, so they sometimes are deleted before they are uploaded, and sometimes they sit in my Flickr account. Fortunately I have a few which appear to not have been uploaded to this blog which is fortunate since I am out of town at the moment.
