There was a lot of chalk graffiti on the sidewalk. This basically says "die". I hope this person gets some help.

Rat in the Road

On the first day I came to Tokyo I was walking to my hotel in Ueno, and on the sidewalk I saw a dead rat. After a night of karaoke, on the subway platform I saw another dead one.

All these years and half the island away, I was walking through my neighborhood and I saw this on my way to work.

Black Ladybug

This is called a chilocorus stigma and is from North America. I wonder who brought this over.

Green Grass

The grass is starting to become green again. It is a welcome sight.

The only reason I am posting this is because of the light bouncing off that house.

The Snow Falleth

This winter, rather February and March, has brought a lot of snow to Sendai. I have definitely done more shoveling this season than any other I have lived in Sendai.

The haze in the sky made for some interesting colors this morning.

Apparently that dome sustained damage from all the snow.

The way the sidewalks look after a snowfall. Good luck walking on this when it freezes.

Tire Tracks

The tire tracks left on the side streets after a big snow. There are no plows that come down these roads. And probably nothing small enough even if the city had them.
