I love the performances on Ichibancho. This one was in front of Yamaha on a lazy afternoon.

I was downtown on Ichibancho, taking pictures of the alleys. This couple was following me around and jumped in this shot. I wish that happened more often.

I often do this when I am trying to take pictures without looking through the viewfinder, I do not aim high enough. Here I was trying to get a shot of the band. I decided to keep this picture after looking at it though. I like how my eye followed what everyone is looking at.

Religion as Advertisement

This gate is called a torii and it is usually found in front of a shrine. Here it is found in a shopping arcade.

I was walking down Ichibancho and there was a group of pigeons. I do not like them, but I thought it would be a fun challenge.

Bolt in Sendai

I did a doubletake when I saw this. And then I saw about three more while walking down the street.

Sitting Around

This guy was sitting across Ichibancho from the store I was in, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of him as he was resting while doing the "Japanese Squat".

Faceless

This is a clock, but fell over and broke in the earthquake. The scene below the clock is Hasekura Tsunenaga meeting the Pope.

World's Biggest

this was the biggest kamaboko I've ever seen - real or not.

Sendai Hasekura Tsunenaga Clocks

I never noticed that these clocks were homages to Hasekura Tsunenaga. If you look closely, you can see his name there at the bottom.

Tanabata Street

Walking along Ichibancho, I found this when I looked down.
