It has been there for a long time. I thought it was owned by soldiers when I was in Japan but it wasn't. I think it has the same owners. It is a nice shot, by the way.
I'd keep on going down the alley towards Ichibancho, just a few doors down is a place called HaSen, it has the best potstickers in the world. Little indescript place, sometimes you have to wait for a seat. Like garlic and beer, this is the place to go. Honest, been hitting it for over 30 years.
